The Calendar and Time Management of Xeron
As the long-lived races have a tendency to not forget and for that matter ever let the shorter lived races forget the system of time measurement has remained the same since recorded history. The system is based on the symbolic rise, ascendance and rebirth of the Primordials which also serve to mark the beginning and endings of seasons as well as begin the equinoxes and solstices. The world of Xeron rotates quite quickly around the Sun named Hiathas, for the firstborn son of the Primordial Maurenna, and within three hundred and sixty days completes a cycle and therefore a year. The year is broken up into four season’s winter, spring, summer and fall with each Primordial having three full months of regency recorded as their rise, ascendance and rebirth. The regencies are begun by an equinox or solstice and recorded in a fashion which shall be revealed. It is also worth noting that each month is thirty days long also the time it takes the Moon Leonoth, named for the favored son of Maurenna the Primordial, to rotate around Xeron. Each week of each Month is also ten days long and each day is named for a Lord or Light or Exarchs of Shadow. Each day also has a symbolic meaning tied to the day of the week based on its inspiration which will also be revealed.
Time is recorded with the name of the day followed by the Primordials name then the year and finally the rise, ascendance or descent which corresponds to months in many other calendars. The days and their primary derived observances are as follows, Felishar day of Miracles, Aulora day of Justice, Goia day of Commerce, Athne day of Fortune, Guelenir day of Learning, Gravicarius day of Pride, Tyrexxus day of Wrath, Ulasta day of Envy, In’nassi day of Lust, and Mytaxx day of Greed. So for instance the first day of the current year began with Felishar 1 of Selene’s 9001st Ascendance and will end with Mytaxx 30 of Selene’s 9002nd Rise. With the official campaign start date being Aulora 12 of Selene’s 9001st Ascendance also called the Day of Justice. Or of course in other words give or take 1/12/9001 but for campaign flavor I presented the information as it may of course one day come into play in one form or another.
